For many years in Matt’s youth he worked as a Jackaroo on remote stations in far North and far West Queensland.
His paintings are infused with personal experience. Some were painted whilst he was living this life and others in the immediate years following. It was his experiences in the Australian outback that led Matt to create the award-winning intermodal work for young adults/adults, Requiem for a Beast.
